O-Ring Backup Rings, sometimes called Backup O-Rings, serve as a failsafe to prevent gas or fluid leaks in the event that the main O-Ring fails. They also extend the life of the main O-Ring and improve performance in high pressure and temperature applications. PTFE, sometimes called Teflon, is used in the most aggressive environments where resistance to harsh chemicals and high temperatures are required. Used in chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas applications.
