Semi-closed cell EPDM foam, also known as crushed cell EPDM foam, is highly conformable like an open-cell form but forms a tight seal and prevents air, water, and fluids from passing through it like a closed-cell foam. EPDM foam is resistant to weather and UV. EPDM also withstands water, steam, mild chemicals, and moderately high temperatures. Commonly used in applications involving steam, such as industrial pipe systems and electrical power plants.
