Thread cutting screws creates new threads in existing holes. These are ideal for applications where periodic maintenance is needed. The pan head features a disc with chamfered outer edge and short cylindrical sides that resembles a frying pan. Pan heads protrude above the fastening surface. The phillips drive has a cross-shaped indent for use with a Phillips screwdriver. Type 1 thread cutting screws have a blunt point and one cutting edge. Zinc plated steel offers good corrosion resistance in applications not exposed to excessive moisture.
