Self-tapping screws create their own threads but require a pilot hole. The flat undercut head is similar to the standard flat head but has a shorter head, providing the screw with a longer thread than a standard flat head screw of the same length. The square drive has a square-shaped recess designed to be used with square driver. Zinc plated steel offers good corrosion resistance in applications not exposed to excessive moisture.
