Unidirectional carbon fiber tubes have fibers running in a single parallel direction so it is ideal for applications where front-to-back strength is important. Carbon fiber has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of all raw materials. Created by layering carbon fibers with a plastic resin, then laminating under heat and pressure. Commonly used for building frames and structures, it has many uses in aerospace, military, civil engineering, and sport applications. Carbon fiber is commonly known as CF, graphite fiber, or carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer.
