Hanger bolts are threaded on booths ends where one end has a self-tapping thread while the other end has a unified coarse (UNC) thread. Hangers bolts are most commonly used in woodworking applications to add an external thread to a surface. The self-tapping thread is fastened into the wood while the UNC thread is used to fasten another material with a nut. Zinc plated steel offers good corrosion resistance in applications not exposed to excessive moisture.
