Elevator bolts feature a thin and wide flat head that is designed to sit flush against the surface to prevent obstructions in operational systems with confined space. Elevator bolts also have a square or ribbed neck that prevents the bolt from turning when a nut is installed. Elevator belts are commonly used in conveyer systems. Square necks are the standard for carriage bolts. Square necks are designed to prevent the bolt from turning as the nut is tightened. Zinc plated steel offers good corrosion resistance in applications not exposed to excessive moisture.
